When children enter the toddler room we focus on developing their independence, language skills and social skills. Pre Montessori work is introduced which includes activities such as peg boards, sorting shapes and colours and other activities that help refine fine motor skills, concentration levels and language skills.
Toddlers are very curious little people, so we have created an environment that caters to this curiosity. Role play resources, open-ended materials and many arts and crafts materials feature throughout the day to encourage the toddlers to experiment and learn about their world.
Linguistically, huge leaps and bounds are usually occurring and we encourage plenty of story time, news, discussion and songs.
The toddler room is often where toilet training begins. Our changing room is equipped with a changing table, potty and children’s toilet.
